Znečistený vzduchový filter je najčastejšou príčinou zlyhania systému HVAC. Znečistený filter obmedzuje prítok vzduchu do manipulátora vzduchu systému HVAC. Toto obmedzenie prúdenia vzduchu vedie k zvýšenému zaťaženiu motora ventilátora manipulátora vzduchu, čo môže v dlhodobom horizonte viesť k jeho poškodeniu, prehriatiu systému a nakoniec k jeho zlyhaniu.
